While some of the bold and the beautiful schmoozed in D.C., others were in Louisville, Ky., to celebrate the Kentucky Derby. Our quarterback Tom Brady was one of the biggest shots on the scene, sporting a shaggy ’do while mingling with Barry Bonds at the Turf Club. (Brady must have made a quick exit because he and wife Gisele Bundchen were spotted in New York City on Saturday night at a Spring Flight party hosted by celebrity hair stylist Harry Josh.) Even though they were more than 800 miles away from the action, Bay Staters also celebrated the Derby by donning big hats and sipping mint juleps without ice (there was a water ban, after all). The Liberty Hotel hosted the Lilly Pulitzer-sponsored Sandra K. Russell Derby Day, which included a hat parade and a silent auction with items such as a Cam Neely-signed hockey stick. The evening party benefited Mitochondrial Disease. Near Fenway, newscasters Anne Allred, Sorboni Banerjee, Adam Williams, and Ryan Schulteis watched the Derby scene at Game On! as part of a benefit for BELL (Building Educated Leaders for Life).
