BELL partnered with schools and districts across 5 states in 2009 to deliver its award-winning summer program to more than 3,000 youth (called “scholars”). Results of standardized tests indicate that BELL scholars gained an average of six months’ grade equivalent skills in reading and math this summer, and started the school year prepared to excel. BELL Summer is the only summer program scientifically proven to improve academic skills! Read more about the random assignment study by the Urban Institute here.
BELL’s impactextends to whole schools and communities, with growing evidence that BELL helps to turn around chronically underperforming schools:

•
Augusta, GA superintendent Dr. Dana Bedden announces BELL as his partner of choice in his district’s school turn-around strategy. “I'll sink or swim with this program. That's how much I believe in it,” he said.
